Welcome to the end of an eventful 2010. For mig33 as a company, we’ve consolidated our move from Silicon Valley to Singapore to be closer to our customers, delivered a broader range of services to our users, grown our community and merchants, grown the team at mig33, and financed the company with two new shareholders: Pak Sugiono from Indonesia, and Gree from Japan.

For me, what excites me is how mobile is enabling millions of people everywhere to find new ways to communicate and entertain each other, and mig33’s role in this. Every day, we have millions of user sessions, hundreds of millions of minutes spent by our users on mig33, nearly 1bn messages sent/received by our users, and so much more. We are in the business of helping people give each other hugs and kisses (virtually) then run off and play games with each other – all on mobile. It’s no wonder that every week, we get thousands of emails from our users telling us how much they love the service. And each week, we hear of couples meeting and sometimes getting married as a result of mig33.
2011 will be an exciting year. We’re going to broaden the access to mig33 by supporting a wider range of devices. The social networking framework will be improved substantially. We’ve got a lot of new games and entertainment services in store for our users. And we’re investing in our merchant channel.

Thousands of our users helped out by hold important positions at several emergency posts and refugee shelters Yogyakarta and Central Java, like Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Wedari and Sleman.
These enthusiastic and brave individuals did fund raising in the streets of Yogyakarta and raised money for toiletries, baby essentials, sleeping pads, blankets, sanitary napkins and snacks. Some stayed in posts to cook for refugees while others led the children in singing and dancing activities in order to take their minds off the recent traumatic events.
Despite the danger, mig33 users in Yogyakarta are happy to pray and share to help lessen the grief of these victims of the natural disasters.
